altI first started to go to CafeSano 5 years ago during lunches when I was working off Wiehle Avenue. I was so impressed with the quality and freshness of the food that I took my family for dinner and we have been going back ever since.

I recently went back to taste my favorites again. Before we get to the food, let’s talk about the ambiance. CafeSano is tucked away in an older looking strip mall. The entire strip mall looks like it needs a new façade, but don’t let that scare you away. Inside CafeSano is very modern, neat and clean.

When you enter inside, all of the food items are visible through the large glass case for your visual pleasure. Ordering brick over pizzas is also made easy for you with pre-set combinations like Pollo (chicken) or Margherita (basil and tomatoes).

altFor this piece, I tried the following Red Pepper Humus, Del Mar Pizza and Baklava. Red Pepper Humus is the spicy blend of regular Hummus served with roasted red peppers and jalapenos. It is dressed with extra virgin olive oil and served with grilled pita bread. It is a great starter that you can share with your loved one or family. One of the staff members brought my pizza to my table. Del Mar is served with grilled shrimp, roasted peppers and minced garlic with fresh mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Instead of the traditional tomato based sauce, CafeSano uses their home basil pesto sauce and top the pizza with toasted pine nuts. This dish is a great alternative to the tired old pepperoni and mushroom pizzas and both men and women should enjoy it. The Baklava that is served is not up to my standards, but if you have never tasted the original dessert in Istanbul, then you will like this one. It is too sweet and dry for my taste.
CafeSano also offers salads, paninis, kabobs, wraps and kids favorites like quesadillas. Almost everything that our family tried over the years has been fresh and delicious. I highly recommend CafeSano to everyone looking for a casually chic restaurant.
