Brambleton

What makes Brambleton a progressive community?

A major part of what makes Brambleton progressive is how the management team works with each homebuilder – and listens to input from residents– to create new, innovative architectural designs, such as the “Yard in the Sky” concept with rooftop terraces in Downtown Brambleton. As a team, Brambleton watches for the latest kitchen, bath, basement and office space trends and works to give the necessary nods to the innovational ideas that our homebuyers need and want. This collaboration is key to how Brambleton stays one step ahead, and we pride ourselves on doing so year after year. A large part of the Brambleton philosophy is a commitment to Loudoun County as a whole. We continuously strive to partner with local charities, parent groups, our community schools, town center retailers and restaurants, and to implement new ideas our residents bring to us. It’s a Brambleton priority to support Loudoun County residents and the local government.

What does the future hold for Brambleton?

The future of Brambleton is exciting!

Loudoun County will open a new library in Brambleton this summer – a cutting-edge facility that is sure to be second to none that will support all of Loudoun County.

Ah-So, a new restaurant in Brambleton, recently opened featuring fresh, local food paired with fine wine selections and specialty cocktails.

Our brand new 55+ Community, Birchwood at Brambleton, is opening this spring, plus the residences of Downtown Brambleton will have its first families moving in soon. This variety of living options offers progressive opportunities for all generations to live close to one another.

Brambleton residents can look forward to the opening of a second high school, under construction and opening in fall of 2019. In total we will have six schools!

You are a leader in the county as an environmentally responsible community. What does that mean?

Brambleton has developed Natural Resource areas throughout the community, including our Blue Bird Trail. Resident volunteers maintain and monitor this trail for the community, and you will see blue bird boxes along the many trails within Brambleton. These are considered to be a valued and protected environmental amenity. It’s one of our most loved amenities.

Brambleton’s community association incorporates environmentalism into day-to-day maintenance, using non-phosphorous fertilizers on the community’s common areas to protect against chemical pollution.

Association staff work to help protect Loudoun County’s overall environmental health by being involved with Keep Loudoun Beautiful and recently adopting the beautiful Beaverdam Reservoir area for clean-up projects and upkeep on a regular basis. Brambleton works with landscape materials and plants native to the region; ensuring these Virginia species are propagating naturally for decades to come.

The Brambleton Community Association even goes so far as to sweep and collectof the impact of exces son the surrounding Brambleton even has a “Geese Police” K9 service to help disperse the large flocks of localized Canada Geese; this reduces the amount of waste and nitrogen that the geese produce.

You are home to many community events, fairs and festivities, making Brambleton not only a great place to live but also to visit. What big events are planned for 2018?

Brambleton supports local charities with events throughout the year. The community believes in giving back whenever possible and through its own causes, as well as those of its builder community, it has succeeded in annually growing its support of local non-profit organizations. To name but a few, the following have benefitted in some way from Brambleton’s desire to give back – LoudounLyme, WomenGivingBack, HomeAid Northern Virginia, Emerging Scholars, HeroHomes Loudoun, Paytons Project, Stillbrave, Children’s National Medical Center, Capital Caring, Friends of Loudoun Mental Health, Generosity Feeds, LAWS, Step Sisters, Breast Cancer Research, the Nicholas Blanco Foundation and many, many more.

Through the Brambleton Community Association, and with help from our homebuilders, Brambleton supports the County by collaborating in their events whenever needed. The 2018 calendar of events is huge and there is something for everyone happening almost every month.

One Loudoun

What makes One Loudoun a progressive community?

One Loudoun is so much more than one thing. It’s everything you need all in one place. It’s an inexplicable feeling you simply have to experience to understand. It’s a confluence of culture and connectivity where everything works together in perfect harmony.

One Loudoun offers a very unique experience to Loudoun County. While the residential development is exciting and sought after, it seems the retail side is proving to be a trendsetter in the area. Is this observation true and was it always the plan?

One Loudoun is the essence of a promise delivered. A mixed-use, master-planned community is developed according to a plan. Hence the distinction as a “master-planned” community. There is a natural order or sequence to the success. Retail requires traffic and therefore was always planned within the natural order of the development. The mix of trendsetting retailers is a result of the market demands.

New Urbanism is an urban design movement which promotes environmentally friendly communities by creating walkable neighborhoods containing a wide range of housing and job types. Is this trend here at One Loudoun and how does the community fit into this movement?

One Loudoun is the epitome of a new urban environment and takes this concept to another level by expanding on the principals of new urbanism with five fundamentals of a new urban lifestyle where culture is expressed through the art of living, technology and humanity including:

Harmony – the quality of forming a pleasing and consistent whole

Social – companionship derived from community

Connected – bringing together in order to establish a relationship

Organic – a relationship of sustainable elements that fit together seamlessly to create the whole

Urban – a physical place of sophistication

You are home to the stores like Barnes and Noble, Matchbox, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Starbucks, among many others. One Loudoun is the place to be if you want to do business in Loudoun. How are you able to attract such large retailers to the area?

One Loudoun was able to capitalize on a void in the marketplace and deliver on it’s promise of creating an all-encompassing community. This idea of an all-encompassing place where people work, shop, live, dine, entertain is a natural attraction for retailers to be apart of such a progressive movement in a location where it previously did not exist yet there was clear demand. Retailers want to be where the people are and they have certainly found those people at One Loudoun.

What does the future hold for One Loudoun?

One Loudoun is not done yet! The best is yet to come and the experience is only going to be elevated by new and exciting residential office, retail and entertainment opportunities. Wait until you see “what’s next!”

You are a leader in the county as an environmentally responsible community. What does that mean?

One Loudoun is committed to providing a sustainable environment for its neighbors, residents and future generations. This is one of the hallmarks for a new urban community. Smart growth with low to no impact on the environment is built into every aspect of the community.

You are home to many community events, fairs and festivities, making One Loudoun not only a great place to live but also to visit. What big events are planned for 2018?

One Loudoun plans to continue many of the great traditions we’ve established for the community and the greater region including a weekly Farmer & Artisan Marketplace by EatLOCO.org, DowntownFest and the Holiday Tree Lighting in early December. Other favorites returning to the Plaza are Rocknoceros, Summer Concert Series, Flicks on the Bricks and the Carnival! Joining the event line-up this spring is Beer, Bacon and Music Festival. Many other events are in the works as always! To stay up to date on “What’s Next” at One Loudoun, sign up on our website at oneloudoun.com and follow us on social media!
