Best Budget-Friendly & Time-Saving Beauty Hacks

You don’t need to spend a fortune or hours every morning on your beauty routine to look and feel your best this summer! Handle the heat and sweat-proof your beauty regimen with these top budget and time-saving tips.

The long-awaited summer season is now here. From the long work weeks and household chores to weekend barbeques and family vacations, our summer schedules are packed more than ever, which means our beauty routines often take a backseat. As a beauty blogger, entrepreneur, and mother of three teenagers, I’ve learned that my beauty routine doesn’t have to be secondary to my hectic schedule, cost thousands of dollars, or take hours of my day.

Protecting Your Skin with Sun Visors & Hats
To protect your skin from the sun’s UV rays, always wear a sun visor or hat. Afterward, use an antibacterial gel or wipe to clean along your forehead to prevent pimples and other blemishes from forming.

Wearing Socks While You Sleep
Wearing sandals during the day can cause havoc on your heels, so keep them moisturized with Vaseline and socks at night.

Getting a Sexy Beach Wave
Braid your hair into two pigtails at night or for a couple hours while you’re cleaning your house. Remove them, and use your fingertips to comb into no-fuss beach waves.

Minimizing Bug Bites with Dryer Sheets
During the summer, it’s so difficult to prevent bug bites, so when you’re outdoors, use dryer sheets on your skin to keep the bugs away.

Bright Eyes with Eye and Night Creams
Store your eye or night cream in the refrigerator. It will act as a cold compress and help reduce puffiness faster.

Eliminating Skin Irritation with a Chamomile Tea Bag
To eliminate red bumps and irritation after shaving your bikini line, make a bag of chamomile tea, and place it in the freezer for 5 minutes, and then massage on the area.

Keeping Oil Under Control
Use a setting powder and an oil control setting spray together to keep oil from building up on your face and neck during those hot summer days.

Getting that Perfect Glow with Bronzer
Trade in your eye shadow and other eye makeup for bronzer. This will help make your eyes appear brighter. The right color bronzer will also give your skin that radiant summer glow without exposure to UV rays.

Using Papaya as a Facial Mask
Mash a papaya and add a tablespoon of coconut oil to create a hydrating facial mask. This fresh-scented fruit contains enzymes that will eliminate clogged pores, dead skin cells and other bacteria.

No More Powder Blush
Replace your powder blush with a gel or cream-based gel that will not break down with sweat. Gel or cream-based gel blushes have longer staying power as well.

Lasting Manicures and Pedicures
Apply an additional clear topcoat nail polish to avoid chipping and breakage from water and sand.

Protecting Your Mane with Olive and Coconut Oil
To prevent damage to your hair color from the sun’s harmful UV rays and from chlorine in the pool, coat your hair with olive oil and coconut oil.

Replacing Liquid Foundation with Silicone Foundation
Replace your foundation with a silicone foundation. Silicone foundation gives the coverage you need but creates a barrier between your skin and humidity.

Easy DIY Avocado Hair Beauty Treatment
With avocado season in full effect, they can be used in a variety of DIY beauty treatments. One of my favorites is using a ripe avocado, one egg, and one tablespoon of coconut oil mixed together to create a leave-on mask after a day at the beach. Not only will this elixir hydrate your hair, it will make it shine intensely.

Staying Hydrated
It sounds obvious, but the summer sun can wreak havoc on your skin, so it’s critical to stay hydrated. Drink at least 64 ounces of water throughout the day.

Not Getting Enough Sleep?
If you’re like most moms, getting a full eight hours of sleep per night can be a challenge. To help you feel awake and look refreshed, try using nude or white eyeliner on the waterline after you wake up. This will help widen your eyes, making them look brighter, and, in turn, making your entire face appear more youthful.
