Name of the Senior:   Daniel Bess

City: Fairfax VA

High School Name: Paul VI Catholic High School

College Plans: College of William & Mary

Bio: The past four years have gone by quickly. I’m thankful for my time at Paul VI. While carrying a rigorous class schedule, I was involved in many activities. I was on the football team all four years. In my junior year I was selected to be a WCAC All Conference Defensive End. I also participated in Track & Field. I maintained honor roll status most semesters & I was inducted into the Spanish Honor Society. I was honored to be elected as a Senior Class Officer. In my free time I enjoy working out, listening to jazz music and playing my bass guitar. I’ve decided to continue my education at College of William & Mary. My areas of interest are business and legal studies.

Tell us your feelings about how the COVID-19 pandemic has changed your senior year: COVID-19 has taught me that things can change in a moment’s notice. Never in my life did I think I would wish for just one more day of high school, yet here I am. I’ve learned a lot about myself during quarantine. I’ve learned what true friendship is all about and I’ve learned that family is everything. Being confined to the house has made me really appreciate the little things in life. COVID-19 has humbled me tremendously. Though I’m disappointed to miss out on the typical senior year festivities, I know that this situation has made me a stronger person & a better student. I’m looking forward to getting back in the classroom & starting the next chapter.
