In celebration of International Women’s Day, we spoke to the women who are making it happen. These empowering women are building their lives, making their mark on the world and sharing their wisdom.
In partnership with Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig Posh Seven Presents the Empowered Woman Speaker’s Series.
Claire M. S. Meade is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley and has over 20 years of industry experience. She also holds the titles of Family Wealth Advisor, Financial Planning Specialist, Senior Portfolio Manager, and Vice President.
Claire’s clients are busy people – they don’t have the time, resources, or perhaps just the interest in managing their own assets – she worries about their retirement so that they can focus on what’s happening in their life now.
Claire grew up in Northern Virginia. She graduated from the University of Virginia, earning a degree in Rhetoric & Communications Studies as well as a Master’s of Education. After positions as a television news reporter and in marketing, she returned to working for her family’s staffing service, managing one of their offices. She found her true calling, in financial services, when her family’s financial advisor suggested the she come work with him at Solomon Smith Barney after her parents sold their business. She went on to build her own practice, drawing on her small business experience to help business owners as well as a wide-array of clients including corporate executives, professionals, and families working hard to build wealth for college expenses and retirement through financial planning based investment management. She has recently affiliated with The Alexandria Group at Morgan Stanley—a practice of nine financial advisors managing a total of over $1.7B in assets.
In addition, Claire serves on the board of the non-profit Washington Women’s Leadership Initiative and enjoys volunteering for youth sports and other community activities. She is married to her college sweetheart, John, and lives with their two sons in Oak Hill, VA.
