One word that best describes your work pace:

Tell us a little about your background and how you got here.
Choosing a medical career came natural to me coming from a family full of powerful female nurses. As a Sports Medicine Major, I thought for sure I would have a future in Orthopedics. Little did I know, that I would fall in love with Plastic/Aesthetic Medicine after my first rotation in PA school. My husband Pouya encouraged me to follow my heart and do what I love most. He just did not realize at the time how much I would pour myself into the aesthetic industry.

What is the best and worst decision you’ve ever made?
My worst decision in life was allowing others to determine my value and influence my self-worth. The best decision I ever made, outside of my family, was taking on opportunities in life that were challenging and outside of my comfort zone. I truly believe to grow, you have to embrace discomfort.

What excites you most about your industry and sets you apart?
The aesthetic industry is ever evolving. As a national educator and faculty member to multiple aesthetic advisory boards, I feel blessed to be on the forefront of these incredible changes. I believe that what makes us special at Refined Aesthetics is the value we place on our relationships with our patients. Our patients are just as much an integral part of our lives as we are to theirs. We are truly passionate about our patients’ experience and believe everyone deserves a beautiful and natural outcome.

What are you currently reading, or what’s something you’d recommend?
How to Raise Successful People by Esther Wojcicki. Being a female entrepreneur and mother of two (Ian 10 and Ava 7), I feel overwhelmed by the pressure that today’s society presents. The book focuses on how to navigate raising children in this new frontier by establishing the core principles of Trust, Respect, Independence, Collaboration, and Kindness.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
My father telling me to “suck it up and put your big girl britches on.” Wether I was playing junior olympic sports, navigating through personal/professional relationships, or coping with the challenges of everyday life; many of my father’s valuable lessons about life still ring true till this day.
