Full of history and elegance, Lightfoot Restaurant is the brainchild of co-owners Executive Chef Ingrid Gustavson and General Manager Carrie Gustavson. Lightfoot is named after Francis Lightfoot Lee, a Loudoun County hero and one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
American Cuisine At Its Best
The team at Lightfoot honors the rich heritage of Leesburg and creates food that tastes as wonderful as it looks. If you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy classic American cuisine, Lightfoot is the perfect spot for you. To understand how truly delicious Lightfoot is, know this: their desserts and breads are made fresh daily on-site. But don’t forget about the beautiful entreés and appetizers and extensive wine list, because they’re certainly something to celebrate.
You can’t help noticing Lightfoot’s architecture upon walking into the restaurant. From gilded lions to Venetian chandeliers and rich woodwork, the former Peoples National Bank doesn’t sacrifice style. Lightfoot was originally built in 1888 and served as a bank for over half a century. In 1999, the former bank was renovated to once again celebrate its Romaneque Revival Style grandeur.
Of the food, Shannon of Yelp raves, “For dinner I got shrimp and lobster pasta. Yes! Sooo amazing! It had huge chunks of lobster in it and full shrimp (without the tails, which I really appreciate) all in a lovely cream sauce on top of angle hair pasta. It was exactly what I wanted! My boyfriend tried the lobster bisque, which much to his delight also had huge chunks of lobster in it! (So much so that he recommended I put that in the review.) He also got the bacon wrapped shrimp and grits, and he loved it! Huge shrimp wrapped in bacon on cheesy grits; can’t go wrong!”
Paige of Yelp applaudes the elegant atmosphere: “This is what I refer to as the crown jewel of #DtownLsbrg. What a magical setting this historic bank building is. Chef Ingrid makes some of our favorites. Don’t let the elegance fool you, kids are welcome, too.”
