You might even catch sight of the Easter Bunny hopping through town as you enjoy your day. This event is free and open to the public. Start at Town Hall and pick up your ballot, and visit the photo booth to view the entries of the Occoquan Community Peep Contest. Big Truck Days

This fun event, hosted by the Herndon Department of Public Works, allows children and parents to see some of the town’s big trucks and heavy equipment up close. Children can learn more about how they operate by the workers who use them. Light refreshments will be served, and souvenirs will be provided to children. Antique Car Show

Admire the biggest collection of antique cars lining the streets of downtown Fairfax in the area at this antique car show. Marvel over all types of historic cars from as early as the 1930 Fords Sedan, to a 1986 Jaguar AJ6, and a variety of models in between. Live music and many activities for children. The City of Fairfax Police will host a bike rodeo, where they will inspect bikes for safety and have an obstacle course children can ride through. Every year on Memorial Day weekend, over 400,000 motorcycle riders from across the United States assemble at the Pentagon to ride through Washington DC to originally pay tribute to those who fought in Vietnam, but now also honor all servicemen and women who serve or have served our nation and defend our liberty. Watch as many of those riders assemble in Fairfax, Virginia, for Ride of the Patriots and are police escorted to the Pentagon to join those participating in Rolling Thunder. The National Memorial Day Parade draws thousands of spectators to the National Mall to pay tribute to those who have served, are serving, and, most importantly, honoring our fallen heroes. The parade is a moving timeline of American military history, honoring those who have served and sacrificed from the American Revolution to the present day. The event features more than forty military, high school and college bands from states across the U.S., historical re-enactors, veteran’s organizations, and more than one thousand active-duty military personnel.
