Tucked away in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Barnsley Resort in Georgia is heaven for outdoor enthusiasts. It can be best described as where history, outdoor action, and Southern charm come together. The new High Adventure Shooting Grounds by High Adventure Company is the primary focal point. Other rustic and outdoor activities include: catch and release fishing in the glistening 10-acre resort pond, canoes & kayaks, hiking and horseback riding on trails for adults and young riders ready for action; and hiking. In the evening enjoy playing lawn games throughout the village with the family, and escaping reality while enjoying s’mores.
Guides are available for on-site fly fishing on local rivers and lakes, golf course, and golf school, wingshooting on the 1,800-acre hunting preserve. Wingshooting at the Beretta Shooting Grounds by High Adventure Company at the resort is a must do! Through High Adventure Company, guest are able to have wingshooting and clays lesson with an expert team by their side.
The very hands-on High Adventure Company President and certified wildlife biologist, John Burrell, alongside BJ Moore, the shooting grounds land manager reviewed, planned and oversaw a complete overhaul of the shooting grounds that include doubling the huntable acreage and worked with a High Adventure Company appointed landscape architect to redesign the clubhouse grounds. Additionally, the clubhouse received a refreshed interior design, new covered pavilion for outdoor living space, and new four-wheel drive UTV vehicles, bringing the ground up to High Adventure Company and Barnsley Resort’s premium standards. The dog kennels have been modernized, and new pointing, flushing and retrieving dogs have been added for an unparalleled hunt, which includes English Pointers and Setters, English Cocker Spaniels and Boykin Spaniel breeds.
Just 60 miles from Atlanta a total of 150 retreat style guest rooms and private suites await. The Inn offers spacious king and double queen rooms ranging from 378 to 528 square feet, with beautiful features such as dormer windows, hand-scraped wood floors with a mahogany finish, exposed beams and sloped ceilings. Bathrooms feature gorgeous quartzite countertops, double sinks and oversized showers with oil rubbed bronze fixtures.
